Persepolis
Persepolis is a film about growing up during the Iranian revolution. It is not really a documentary but an animated film based on Marjane Satrapi's real life story as she has told it in her autobiographical novel of the same name.

Superbly elegant and simple.
  The Guardian

Marjane Satrapi makes a powerful movie about war and repression (...) Persepolis is a superb film
.  The Toronto Star

A delightful, curious film that indulges in both the personal and the political and provides a potted history of modern Iran through one woman’s experience.
